Reluctance - Robert Frost

Out through the fields and the woods
And over the walls I have wended;
I have climbed the hills of view
And looked at the world, and descended;
I have come by the highway home,
And lo, it is ended.

The leaves are all dead on the ground,
Save those that the oak is keeping
To ravel them one by one
And let them go scraping and creeping
Out over the crusted snow,
When others are sleeping.

And the dead leaves lie huddled and still,
No longer blown hither and thither;
The last long aster is gone;
The flowers of the witch-hazel wither;
The heart is still aching to seek,
But the feet question 'Whither?'

Ah, when to the heart of man
Was it ever less than a treason
To go with the drift of things,
To yield with a grace to reason,
And bow and accept the end
Of a love or a season?

Eternity Invades review

Bringing heavy bass lines and powerful guitar riffs is unique worship leader, Vicky Beeching. Her latest project aptly named "Eternity Invades" is different from other worship albums by touching on subjects like social justice as heard in "Break our Hearts". Catchy hooks in songs like "One Day" "Inhabit the Praise" will have you singing them everywhere you go!

It's clear that Vicky has a passion for worship and for getting people excited about it. In February she launched WIWN.com encouraging women around the world to seek community with other women who share that heart for worship.

Eternity Invades will be available in stores and online tomorrow so grab a copy and listen away! :D

road trippin!

we left for Carthage, NC straight from church, and it took us about 5 hours to get there. We went to visit my Dads cousin Terry, Terry owns a tree farm and the cutest lab puppies on the planet. we hung out with Terry for a bit then went over to see Terry's bro Tim, I shot his air rifle for a while and managed to back my way into a fire ant mound. FYI fire ants are NOT cool, they bite you and stuff, and thats what happend to me.

so after that fiasco we left for my uncles cabin in Milton, NC. but before we got there we had to stop at Uncle Franks and pick up some strawberry's from his farm... I think he gave us like 20 lb's of strawberry's. (if you want some just ask... I dont think we'll be able to eat them all before the go bad) So we're on the road to Milton, my dad actually let me drive this time, we finally make it there and there's still alot of day left, so tons of things to do.

Erin checks out her repaired car and we all pile in to go get pizza and a movie. we spent the rest of the night in my uncle's cabin, watched Little Miss Sunshine and ate pizza till we were pizza'd out.

Next morning we went fishing and I caught a baby catfish, which erin called a kittenfish, and I released it back into the water to possibly grow into a bigger catfish someday. also we used chicken liver as bait... which i refused to touch. (YUCK)

after we went fishing I took nature walk with erin. then erin and I had a sleepover in the cabin by ourselves and the next day we arrived safely home. ;D
so now you know what happened while I was gone.

thoughts on psalm 30

so basicaly I’ll post the whole chapter so ou dont have to go digging through your things trying to find a Bible. here it goes!

30:1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. 30:2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. 30:3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. 30:4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. 30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. 30:6 And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. 30:7 LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. 30:8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. 30:9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? 30:10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. 30:11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 30:12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever.
I like what the Psalmist is saying here, especially in verse one, “…thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice against me.” First of all, God cares about us that he holds us in high esteem, for him to even care is BIG enough, but that he even holds us high, like a friend, thats freaking crazy! Second, we’re not mocked by our foes or people that dont associate with us… and I say this because honestly there are people who dont like me but I wouldnt take it as far as to say they are my foe or that I am in battle with them. Even Jesus ate with the prostitutes and tax collectors, he pretty much befriended them.In verse two and three he is healing us, but not because we deserve it, the verse says that we “cried out” to Him, and God answered. cool, eh? I’ve been reading this book called ‘Crazy Love’, its by Francis Chan, anywho, I think this is the crazy love that Chan is writing of, because we definately have not ever been deserving of anything.In verse four we are to give thanks to God for being holy and set apart, we are directed to sing of his holiness. Praise Him for the healing and life. the next few verses I believe are a praise.Verse twelve goes on to say “TO THE END THAT MY GLORY MAY SING PRAISE TO THEE, AND NOT BE SILENT…” this is my favorite verse in the whole chapter, its sort of the whole pray without ceasing idea. and I really like “to the end” its not “after camp”, “after church is over”, “til I’m an adult and have real things to complain about”. Its clearly saying forever, eternity.
